Q. Do I need planning permission to install an EV charger?
A. In most cases domestic installations do not need planning permission, although some listed building or conservation areas may have additional requirements.

Q. How much does an EV charger installation cost?
A. Every installation is different depending on whether the installation is domestic or commercial, charger selected, cable route and the condition of your existing electrical installation. Following our survey we'll provide an accurate quotation with no hidden costs.

Q. Can I charge with my solar panels?
A. Yes, many modern smart chargers can be integrated with Solar PV, allowing you to maximise the use of your own renewable energy. We would advise Simpson & Partners and Hypervolt chargers in these cases.

Q. Can my consumer unit support an EV charger?
A. During our initial survey we will ask for photos of the important bits of your existing installation, this way we can determine what condition your installation is in and we can advise from there. In some instances it would be more approachable to install a dedicated EVCP consumer unit.

Q. Which charger should I choose? 
A. This totally depends of your electrical supply, property style, vehicle and how you intend to charge. We'll happily recommend the most suitable options for your requirements during our site assessment.
