Same Electricals Limited was hired to install a premium Simpson & Partners Home 7 Plus electric vehicle charger at a newly built residential property in Morpeth.

The client wanted a high-quality charging solution that not only provided fast, reliable charging for their electric vehicle but also complemented the contemporary design of their home. Project Brief

The client had recently taken ownership of a new-build property and required a professionally installed home EV charger to support the transition to electric vehicle ownership. Alongside safe and compliant installation, the client wanted an EV charger that offered smart charging functionality, future proof connectivity and a premium appearance that complemented the aesthetics of the property. The scope of works included:

Project Challenges

As with every installation undertaken by Same Electricals Limited, careful consideration was given to the routing of the supply cable to ensure the finished installation remained both practical and visually discreet.

To achieve the cleanest possible finish, sections of the client's utility room cabinetry were carefully dismantled, and the tumble dryer temporarily removed to allow the EV Ultra cable to be routed behind the units with suitable fire rated cleats. This enabled us to access the property's electrical cupboard before exiting externally directly beneath the charger location, leaving the cable virtually hidden from view.

Attention was also given to the positioning of the charger to provide convenient day to day vehicle access while maintaining the clean appearance of the property's exterior. Every aspect of the installation was planned to minimise visual impact without compromising accessibility or future maintenance.

Following installation, the charger was fully tested, commissioned and configured, ensuring seamless integration with the client's home network and smart charging tariff before a full demonstration was provided.
