Understanding Your Results

Once the inspection has been completed, you'll receive a detailed Electrical Installation Condition Report outlining the overall condition of your electrical installation together with any observations identified during the inspection. Every observation is assigned a classification code. These codes help determine the level of risk and whether any remedial work is required before the installation can be considered satisfactory.

C1 - Danger Present
A C1 observation identifies an immediate danger where there is a risk of injury. Immediate action is required, and where possible we'll make the installation safe before leaving the property.

C2 - Potentially Dangerous
A C2 observation identifies a defect that could become dangerous under fault conditions. Although not presenting an immediate risk, urgent remedial work is required to ensure the continued safety of the installation.

FI - Further Investigation Required
Occasionally further investigation may be necessary where the cause of a fault or defect cannot be fully determined during the inspection. Additional investigation allows us to accurately identify the issue before recommending the appropriate remedial work.

C3 - Improvement Recommended
A C3 observation indicates that an item does not fully comply with the latest edition of the Wiring Regulations but does not present a danger. The installation can still be considered satisfactory, although improvements are recommended to bring it closer to current standards.
